Chukar Partridge are a particularly beautiful bird from game bird flying stock.

Hatched birds easily adapt for pen raising in your farmstead environment.

One of our favourite birds to raise with years of experience in propogation of this most attractively feather pattern partridge. Useful as  gourmet table fare reminiscent of favourite prized wild gamebirds. Raised on a higher protein based poultry diet, the tender pen raised birds have no equal. A perfect single serving size.

Our Chukars come later than most of other QT birds on the farm. June is incubation time with first chicks hatching for July availability of started birds.

You get them well on their hardy ways in eating well on their own and mostly feathered. Chukars can fly, but once raised in their flock will want to re group.

We have been getting a regular demand for Chukar Partridge and ask for a reservation list to satsfy your time frame to pick up after July for started chicks.

$7 each for unsexed birds up to 4 weeks.

Older birds available in late summer and fall. Prices vary with sexed birds or young breeding groups. 

Hatching eggs can be reserved based on our production and availability.

Currently we keep 3 breeding groups of hardy stock for strong hatches.

Once in a while we exhibit these at poultry a fair to show them off.

Chukar Partridge are a ground bird that can appeciate a branch to perch on, or a bush nearby to feel safe in. We like to keep a few with heritage turkeys as a compatible flock. They can learn to follow back the turkeys into pens after a good day of pasture foraging.
